Honestly, it's easy to feel bitter, especially when you hear about Wattpad-like love stories—like the one between Ailene and Edward. They met on campus—girl thought boy was aloof, boy thought girl was chatty. They crossed paths. Fate never separated them. They lived happily ever after.

But what people don't know is that to maintain a love story tested by time is so much more complex than it seems.

How did your love story evolve over time, and what milestones have been particularly meaningful for both of you?

Ailene

I've learned to be more patient and understanding. They say it takes two to tango, and I'm proud we tangoed together. (Ailene laughs)

But kidding aside, we've experienced so many good and bad times together, and I couldn't think of anyone else to face those with.

Edward

With all that we've been through, this decision to get married is the most meaningful, and I'm glad. We've been together for so long, and I'm excited to continue this journey with God's blessing at the altar.

Can you recall a challenging moment in your relationship and how you overcame it together?

Ailene

No matter how hard we try to avoid them, it's normal to encounter challenges in a relationship that really put us to the test. Before, I didn't always balance my time well, especially when I get too focused on something, and I would forget about other important things in my life, like taking care of myself and nurturing my relationships. It was so overwhelming for both of us. I unintentionally neglected our relationship.

But that experience taught us to be more open with each other. We discussed our shortcomings and found a way forward that felt fair to both of us. We really made sure to set aside time to talk about the issue and worked together.

Edward

Finding time for each other can be tough, especially since we both have our own things going on. We don't want to lose that because it helps us grow individually. 

But we've learned that we should also prioritize spending time together and being able to talk about problems, find solutions, and try to be better together.

What do you admire most about your partner, and how has it influenced your relationship?

Ailene

He's a risk-taker with a strong heart. Whenever I hesitate or say no to something because I'm afraid of taking risks, he's always there to help me see the uncertainties of life and understand them better.

Edward

She is a good partner and very supportive of my goals. She has influenced my life to be better.

What qualities in your partner make you feel grateful to have them by your side?

Ailene

He understands the effort required in our relationship. He doesn't just say it; he makes me feel through his actions that our relationship is important to him.


He is always genuinely proud of my achievements and patiently understands me when I'm not at my best.

Edward

She’s supportive, loyal, and beautiful inside and out.

How did you know that your partner was "the one"?

Ailene

I won't deny it—I can be difficult sometimes. But I'm grateful that he allows me to embrace my emotions and be candid about them. He is my safe space.

Edward

I never felt that her faith wavered no matter how difficult the situation became. She's always on my side.
